Express Delivery

We're proud that the vast majority of our orders arrive quickly — our express delivery service with DPD typically takes just 1–2 working days from the point of dispatch, depending on your location within the UK.

Please note that our express service is a next working day delivery, meaning weekends and bank holidays are not included. If your order is dispatched ahead of a bank holiday, delivery will be on the next available working day. During bank holiday weeks, this may add an extra day or two to your usual delivery window, but rest assured your plants will be carefully packed and on their way to you as soon as possible.


Delivery Timescales

All orders are dispatched on an express UK delivery service which is fully tracked with a range of express UK couriers. We currently use a mixture of DPD, DX Delivery & Royal Mail. All orders are dispatched as quickly as possible and we work to dispatch orders within 1–3 working days (Monday–Thursday). Currently over 95% of our orders are dispatched within 1 working day. Most items are sent on a 24-hour next day delivery service where possible.


Delivery Charges

Our delivery charges are based on order value — we do not impose a minimum order value. In order to offer only the very best courier service on a 24-hour service with full tracking from just £7.99, we do not have a minimum order value. Please see the table below for our current delivery charges.

Weekend Delivery

We offer a weekend delivery option for orders placed between 12pm Wednesday and 12pm Friday. This is subject to availability and, as it is an additional cost to us, a surcharge will apply at checkout. If weekend delivery is available, you'll see the option during the checkout process — unfortunately this service cannot be requested outside of these windows.

DPD's weekend service isn't available to every UK postcode. If it's not available in your area, we'll send your order on the fastest standard service and refund any weekend surcharge you've paid.


Dispatching Your Order

We currently dispatch between Monday–Thursday as we aim for all live plant packages to be received before the weekend to avoid unnecessary delays in transit. Please note that if you order after 12 noon on a Thursday, your order will be shipped on the next available dispatching date unless by prior agreement.

On occasion, your chosen items may be ordered directly from the growers and may take 1–2 weeks to arrive to you. This is usually because your plant has very specific condition requirements and we can trust that your plant has had the very best care right up until you receive it.

We do ask for your understanding when it comes to dispatch timescales. Plants are living organisms that perish unless treated appropriately. If weather conditions are not suitable for transport by our growers or ourselves, we may need to delay dispatch so that you receive your plants in the best condition possible. We also reserve the right to avoid plants being in transit over the weekend if weather conditions are unsuitable.

Should some of your item(s) not be ready for immediate dispatch, we wait to ship all items together to reduce our carbon footprint. If you require part of your order to arrive earlier, please get in touch. There may be an additional carriage charge payable for more than one delivery.


When You Can Expect Your Parcel

You will receive an order confirmation and a dispatch confirmation to let you know when your parcel is on its way. The countdown for arrival can then begin!

Please note: we dispatch on Monday–Thursday only to avoid unnecessary periods of time in courier warehousing over the weekend. This is to ensure that your plants reach you in the best possible condition. The only exception may be during peak weekend periods such as the Black Friday weekend, where additional courier services are made available to us.


Delivery Instructions

There is a facility within the checkout process to add delivery instructions for the courier to follow. These instructions are passed on directly and securely to our courier. Please advise during checkout if you have any specific requirements, or if there is a safe place for your parcel to be left. If you request for your parcel to be left in a 'safe place' and unattended, this is at your own risk and we are not able to refund you for any lost or items damaged by weather.


Delivery Information That You Provide

If any of the delivery information you provide is incorrect, and we have not been made aware of corrections before dispatch, we hold no liability or responsibility over the shipment made. We will not resend or refund your order unless it is received back to us in a resalable condition. Additional/second delivery charges will be payable by the customer.


Our Delivery Destinations

We are a UK-based plant company that provides house plants delivered across the UK.


Offshore, Scottish Highlands & Northern Ireland

Regrettably, we are unable to offer delivery to these areas at this time.

We are unable to deliver to PO Boxes and BFPO addresses.


Returns

Every plant delivered by us is grown in a professional and caring environment. Not only this, but each and every plant goes through two strict quality control checks — by the grower and by ourselves. We have worked hard to ensure each and every plant is stable and carefully set within your parcel to avoid damage on their road trip to you. The loss of the odd leaf in transit on a healthy plant should not generally be a cause for concern.

We hope that you love our plants as much as we do, but if you find that your plants have arrived significantly damaged, please contact us at hello@houseplant.co.uk and we will do all we can to put things right.


Returning and/or Refunding Plants

If your plant arrives and it has been damaged in transit and will not recover, please let us know immediately by email to hello@houseplant.co.uk and send photographs of any issues. Please take photographs before re-potting or pruning so that we can understand how your items have arrived to you.

We do not accept returns unless by prior agreement following the above communication including photographs.

We aim to resolve to your satisfaction, and will discuss with you if it is appropriate to replace, partially refund or fully refund depending on the issues raised.

We do not accept returns if you have changed your mind. The legal right to cancel because you have changed your mind does not apply to perishable goods including plants.

We ask for your understanding that all plant sizes are approximate due to each and every one having its own personality. It is inevitable that there may be some variation in sizes and shapes to that of the example images and each plant. We do all that we can to ensure that your plant is at the very least the minimum to the size indicated on the product listing. Plant heights include the height of the brown pot.
